TE TŪRANGA I THE ROLE: 

The Sports Partnerships Lead is responsible for developing, championing and executing creative advertising solutions that deliver value for clients and support the Ad sales objectives of Sky. This role involves working closely with the sales team, sport content teams and advertisers to create engaging and impactful cross platform sport sponsorships that drive advertising sales growth. 

NGĀ HAEPAPA | ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES  

 

  • Proactively collaborate with the sales team and advertisers to understand their needs and provide creative, integrated solutions that meet clients requirements. 
  • Develop and execute insightful responses to client briefs. 
  • Ideate new creative sponsorship and integration opportunities that align with overall client strategy and sales objectives. 
  • Conceptualise and produce high-quality proposals, sales collateral; including sales presentations and case studies.  
  • Ensure all sponsorship proposals done in advance within an appropriate timeline for sales. 
  • Ensure that all creative work is consistent with the Sky and the client’s brand guidelines and messaging 
  • Manage the process from concept to final product, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within the brief and budget 
  • Champion the evolution of internal collaboration between departments (including marketing, social, legal and Sport Production) and influence new cross platform opportunities. 
  • Work with external agencies and vendors as necessary to bring campaigns to life 
  • Provide creative and executional support for client broadcast sponsorship campaigns and activations 
  • Be client facing and additive to the sales efforts 
  • Develop and nurture key relationships with Media Agencies. Integration agencies, creative agencies and key suppliers in order to champion and grow Sky Integration Solutions

NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO | WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

You have strong commercial and strategic thinking, a deep understanding of content and audiences, and the ability to create authentic brand partnerships that add value rather than disrupt viewing. This role requires confident stakeholder and relationship management, strong judgement and integrity to protect editorial standards, and the ability to lead collaboratively across creative and commercial teams. Success also depends on solid project management, attention to detail, and performance analysis skills, alongside personal qualities such as adaptability, clear communication, and confidence in balancing revenue goals with a high-quality audience experience.

Essential:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office in Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel and CRM software 
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field 
  • 7+ years of experience in sponsorship, trade marketing, creative or media advertising, or a related field 
  • Previous experience managing a project/delivery team 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams 
  • Strong creative skills with a portfolio demonstrating experience in developing successful campaigns 
  • Experience managing projects from conception to completion, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines 
  • Experience in creative solutions, brand funded content and cross platform integrations. Articulate examples of previous experiences 

 

Preferred:

  • A ‘student of the industry’ to have a deep knowledge of marketing trends and best practices, with a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments 
  • Familiarity with the television industry and advertising sales processes
