KO WAI MĀTOU I ABOUT SKY
We’re a proud Aotearoa New Zealand business with the ambition to become the most essential and engaging media company.
This is more than entertainment; it’s about moments that matter—connecting Kiwi with the stories and sport they love, anytime, anywhere.
Every person in our crew makes that possible. We are driven by our purpose, and we lead with care, inclusion, and integrity because how we do things matters just as much as what we do.

TE TŪRANGA I THE ROLE:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Director to join Sky, bringing a passion for content and deep product knowledge. This role is at the face of Sky’s advertising business, championing the brand and its incredible content, driving multi-million-dollar revenue, and leading a portfolio of media agencies.

This is a high-impact, high-energy role where broader collaboration is essential — working seamlessly with internal teams and external clients. You’ll take a partnership approach, building trust, fostering strong relationships, and bringing warmth, empathy, and influence to every interaction. With experience having worked the other side, you understand pressures and triggers and navigate them with confidence and agility.

  • Develop and execute winning sales strategies to maximise revenue across your agency portfolio.

  • Proactively drive demand and uncover new business opportunities.

  • Build and nurture strong relationships, influencing stakeholders and taking a partnership approach to every deal.

  • Lead and inspire internal teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and alignment to Sky’s vision.

  • Mentor and develop junior team members, sense-check strategies, and drive performance.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and audience insights to stay ahead of the curve.

  • Own complex, multi-million-dollar forecasting and planning, ensuring accuracy and agility.

  • Represent Sky at major sporting events and client entertainment, creating unforgettable experiences.

NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO | WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You will bring commercial leadership, strategic clarity, and end-to-end delivery oversight that ensures Sky’s products, partnerships, and revenue streams keep growing and thriving. You will be the connective tissue across the business, turning Sky’s vision into actionable plans, driving performance, and empowering teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes. On top of this, you’ll bring energy, influence, and insight to everything you do, shaping strategy and making a real impact across the organisation!

  • Minimum 5 years industry experience (advertising agency or media owner) and 4 years in TV sales.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales revenue targets in a fast-paced media environment.

  • Deep TV, digital/AV, and audience knowledge, with strong market insight.

  • Experience in high-pressure, multi-million-dollar forecasting.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, Landmark, and other property software
