Job Description

TE TŪRANGA I THE ROLE: 

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Analyst for 6 Months fixed term to  play a critical role in enabling our strategic media initiatives. You will collaborate with Product Owners, internal stakeholders, and vendors to ensure successful delivery of products and process improvements that align with business objectives.

Key responsibilities will include: 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

  • Work in partnership with internal Product Owners and the Media Capability team to understand business goals, product vision, and strategic priorities. 

  • Review vendor deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with business requirements. 

  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring outcomes meet defined acceptance criteria. 

  • Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalate as required to the Product Owner. 

  • Support vendor onboarding by ensuring they have the appropriate documentation, access, and context to successfully deliver on requirements. 

  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria to clearly communicate needs and outcomes. 

  • Ensure all project impacts, risks, and issues are effectively managed, visible, and communicated within and outside the team. 

  • Identify and recommend improvements to business processes, workflows, and system efficiencies. 

  • Challenge ideas constructively to ensure alignment to product objectives and value delivery

  • Enable teams to meet business needs and drive continuous improvement across delivery practices.

 

 

NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO I WHAT YOU WILL BRING  

Essential Skills & Experience 

 

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative approach. A sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment are essential. 

  • Strong technology acumen with proven experience across technology environments including billing systems, telecommunications, networks, server platforms, and virtualised environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to bring together differing viewpoints and drive cohesive, strategic outcomes.

  • Experience delivering products and projects using both predictive (plan-driven) and adaptive (Agile/Scrum) delivery methodologies.

  • Advanced capability in business process mapping, benefits analysis, and use of analysis tools such as BPMN.

  • 5+ years’ hands-on Business Analysis experience across the full software development lifecycle within Agile environments (Scrum, DSDM), including writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, leading use case analysis, and working closely with developers and testers.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and requirement analysis capabilities with the ability to translate complex requirements clearly and effectively. 

Nice to Have 

 

  • Familiarity with broadcast and media technology environments, including content management systems, transmission platforms, OTT streaming, digital ad insertion, and supporting infrastructure such as networks, servers, and virtualised platforms.

  • Exposure to industry tools and systems such as IBMS, Viz (MAM systems), Power BI, SQL, Jira, and Confluence.
