TE TŪRANGA I THE ROLE:
We’re on the lookout for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team on a 12-month parental leave contract. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role where you’ll lead application support and integration efforts for key business systems within a fast-paced and future-focused media environment.
This role is ideal for a proactive and pragmatic engineer who thrives in complex environments, can work across technical and stakeholder boundaries, and enjoys balancing delivery with big-picture thinking.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead application support and integration for key SaaS platforms to ensure stability and performance
- Investigate and resolve complex incidents, working with stakeholders to reduce recurrence and improve service
- Collaborate with other technology teams and user groups to manage access, setup, and technical configurations
- Produce clear technical documentation and recommend enhancements to drive continuous improvement
- Act as a senior technical advisor across projects, supporting agile delivery and mentoring others
NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO I- WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- 7–10 years’ experience in software engineering, ideally with SaaS implementation and integration
- Strong skills in application support, incident management, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience with SQL, AWS, and tools like NiFi, Landmark, IBMS, or Xytech
- Proven ability to work in Agile/SCRUM environments and lead technical delivery
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, solution-focused mindset
