TE TŪRANGA - THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a Broadcast Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will configure, test, monitor, and support Sky’s vast broadcast systems and infrastructure. You’ll design systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure optimal performance across our broadcast environment.
You’ll also have the chance to work with cutting-edge broadcast and networking technologies, helping to power Sky’s broadcast operations from studio setup to final delivery to customers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and maintaining system architecture, documentation, and topologies for Sky’s broadcast infrastructure
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues across broadcast platforms
- Contributing to solutions for operational challenges
- Evaluating and mitigating risks to system integrity, ensuring high availability and security
- Implementing agreed changes, updates, and maintenance with minimal disruption
- Conducting root-cause analysis on system performance to drive continuous improvements.
- Working in a team-centric environment on a 24/7 shift pattern.
NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO - WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- At least 3 years’ experience in the Broadcast Industry with accredited qualifications
- Strong technical skills, including CCNA certification
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware (Intel PCs and servers) and Cisco network technologies
- Proficiency with SDI and IP Video standards and troubleshooting principles
- Experience in systems design and implementation, with exposure to disaster recovery procedures and testing
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a dynamic environment
