TE TŪRANGA I THE ROLE:
As part of our ambition to become Aotearoa NZ’s most engaging and essential media company we are growing our Direct Marketing and Data & Business Intelligence capabilities. We are seeking a Senior Analyst – CVM to play a key role in delivering actionable insights that drive customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
As a Senior Analyst – CVM, you’ll be the key analytics partner to the Performance Marketing team, ensuring alignment on KPIs and strategic goals. Reporting to the Lead – Business Intelligence, you will be responsible for delivering sustainable value for our customers and shareholders through ARPU optimisation, increased customer retention, lowering costs to serve, and enhancing overall customer satisfaction. You’ll collaborate closely with Direct Marketing, CX, Product, Finance and Marketing Automation teams to optimise targeting strategies and drive data-led marketing initiatives.
Please note this is a fixed term contract until 1st December 2025.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Analyse customer behaviours, purchasing patterns, and churn trends to develop targeted customer segments and improve marketing strategies.
- Advance the Data & BI function by contributing to ways of working, reporting frameworks, and data-driven decision-making.
- Work closely with Customer Engagement teams to monitor key indicators such as ARPU, churn, cost to serve, and customer satisfaction.
- Support data governance efforts, ensuring data is well-documented, searchable, and structured for business decision-making.
- Track and optimise key performance metrics, including retention, cross-sell, upsell performance, and marketing ROI.
- Conduct post-campaign analysis, measuring marketing effectiveness and providing insights to optimise future campaigns.
- Utilise advanced analytics, segmentation, and propensity modelling to inform customer value management initiatives.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in applying data analysis techniques to business problems and a passion for identifying meaning in the data and sharing the story.
- A growth mindset, adaptability, and a passion for driving meaningful customer engagement.
- Excellent communication skills—able to present complex data in a clear and compelling way
- Proficiency with data visualisation tools, CRM and CDP platforms, customer segmentation, and propensity modelling.
- Proficiency in SQL, R, Python or similar for statistical modelling and predictive modelling.
- Excellent ability to translate data into meaningful insights into business recommendations.
BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in the telco, media or entertainment industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, marketing, business, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Segment, Snowflake, dbt or similar modern data stacks.
